|The interdisciplinary research project “Learning in Times of Digitization” has been initiated in response to the global dimension of learning and digitization, which is nevertheless open to interpretation. The starting point was to ask scholars from different countries and with different research focuses on these fundamental concepts of contemporary society. The experts come from the cultural sciences, the social sciences, computer science, and philosophy.
Heuristic guiding questions were identified in a workshop. These guiding questions were answered and discussed by the experts. The answers appear in the volume “Learning in a Time of Digitization” (Springer, in print). Through the transdisciplinary approach, the possibility and limitations of Learning in a Time of Digitization should be reconstructed in their epistemological complexity On this basis of these analysis, localization and foundation for further transdisciplinary discussions is provided.

- The essays in this volume all seek to answer the following broad question: How can philosophical, educational and critical approaches to corporate communications deepen our understanding of learning in the digital age? The authors reflect on how particular approaches, learning strategies, philosophers or critical theorists can advance the theory and practice of teaching and learning in the digital age. Each essay discusses key concepts from their work and relates those concepts to a particular problem within learning and teaching in the digital age.
